We are an independent firm of Chartered Surveyors with over 25 years’ experience in carrying out surveys. Based in Purbeck, we are able to carry out surveys and valuations across West Dorset including Wareham, Dorchester, Weymouth and Poole. Homebuyer Surveys (Level 2 RICS Home Surveys)
This is likely to be the right choice of survey if you are purchasing a more modern property (likely post 1900), of traditional construction. It is a cheaper alternative to a Building Survey but still reports on significant defects.
Please note we do not provide valuations or insurance figures.
This has a standard report format and condition ratings are provided. Fees vary depending on the size and age of the property but range from £475 - £850 (no VAT).
Building Surveys
Older properties may hold a range of issues that can be very costly if they remain unnoticed. A Building Survey provides the most detailed inspection available and will identify building defects and provide advice on repairs. It is appropriate for:
Listed buildings
Older properties
Buildings that have been extensively renovated or altered.
Run-down properties or buildings that you intend to renovate or extend significantly
Larger, high value properties
The report is not a standard format and is tailored towards the client’s needs. Fees vary depending on the size and age of the property but range from £800-1600 (no VAT).
Valuations
We are an RICS regulated firm. Based in Purbeck but able to provide valuations for clients across Dorset. Valuations may be required for a range of situations including:-

Probate/Inheritance Tax
Sales/purchase of shared equity/stair-casing.
Right to Buy.
Fees vary from £250 upwards depending on the size of property and purpose of the valuation.
